Coffee in honor of Fairytales on Ice: Beauty and the Beast held at Hempstead Hall this morning

Fairytales on Ice Creative Director Alex Wilfand (at bottom left) poses this morning with members of the staff of Hempstead Hall and with representatives from the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council, both sponsors of Friday's performance of Beauty and the Beast.

This week's Hope-Hempstead Chamber of Commerce coffee was held at Hempstead Hall in honor of ICE Productions' arrival in town to perform Beauty and the Beast on the Hempstead Hall stage, Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Served at tables in the lobby were treats including donut holes, muffin sections, a fruit bowl and a meat and cheese charcuterie. Coffee and cold water were also on offer.

Soon after the pictures were taken of Hempstead Hall staff with the show's creative director, attendees were invited to take seats in the theater for a preview of about ten minutes of the show. There the company's dazzling choreography was on full display, all the more impressive for the performers being on ice skates.

Creative Director for Fairy Tales on Ice Alex Wilfand, said this was the company's fifth year on tour and that this current tour included 34 cities. As for how long it takes to develop a show from inception to performance, Wilfand said a year to a year and a half. "We've really stepped it up," he said. "Every year it gets bigger and bigger"

He also had an announcement of what to expect next year. "We already know we're doing Peter Pan and Wendy's adventures," Wilfand said.

Tickets for this year's show are availableĀ HEREĀ 24/7 or by calling 870-722-8565 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
