FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas senior to be reserve center Connor Vanover has joined fellow Razorbacks reserve teammates Khalen KK Robinson and Chance Moore in announcing he’s submitting his name in the transfer portal.

A 2-year letterman for Coach Eric Musselman’s Razorbacks and a Little Rock native who lettered as a University of California freshman then redshirted in 2019-20 upon transferring to Arkansas, Vanover played 44 games the last two seasons with 37 starts, mostly during 2020-2021 when he averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots averaging 16.2 minutes per game.

An early season-starter in 2021-2022 starting 10 of the first 12 games, Vanover’s time so dwindled behind All-SEC center Jaylin Williams and transfer reserve big man Kamani Johnson that he was not used in the final 19 games of the Razorbacks’ 28-9 Elite Eight season.

“Growing up in Arkansas it was always a dream to play in a Razorback uniform and I will never forget the amazing memories we made these last few years," Vanover posted on Instagram in announcing his transfer portal decision.

Arkansas through the transfer portal has signed center-forward Trevon Brazile of the University of Missouri and twin brothers center-forwards Mahki and Mahkel Mitchell of the University of Rhode Island. During last fall’s early signing period the Hogs signed incoming freshmen Joseph Pinion of Morrilton, Nick Smith of North Little Rock, Derrian Ford of Magnolia, Jordan Walsh of Branson, Mo. and Barry Dunning of Mobile, Ala. and have a verbal commitment for this month’s signing period from incoming freshman Anthony Black of Duncanville, Texas.
