Curley Wolves Drop a Tough Contest to McAlester 17-13
McAlester- The Curley Wolves crossed state lines into Oklahoma to take on the 5-A Runner-Up McAlester. In a game that was dominated by defenses early on, McAlester would take a 3-0 lead into halftime. Great defense was played all game long by the Curley Wolves. A well-dialed-up fake punt would see Prescott's Decari Prater find PJ Gulley for a 1st down. The fake punt would spark the offense, as Prater would then find D’Wayne White in the endzone for the first touchdown of the game and give Prescott a 7-3 lead in the 3rd quarter.

The Buffaloes would go on to score twi touchdowns to take a 17-7 lead in the 4th quarter. Gulley would take a pass 65 yards to the house from Pierce Yates to make the score 17-13 with 7:21 remaining in the game. Great blocks from Spencer Hubbard and D’Wayne White helped Gulley break free and outrun the defense into the endzone.

Prescott was threatening to score on the final drive of the game. Yates would step through the pocket and take off for a 18 yard run, getting out of bounds at the Buffaloes'  eight yard line to set up a final play with two seconds on the clock. Yates looked for White in the endzone but the ball would fall incomplete to give McAlester the 17-13 win.

Yates ended the game with 154 yards passing, one TD and 47 yards rushing. PJ Gulley had six receptions for 112 yards and a TD. D’Wayne White had four catches for 50 yards, including catching a TD pass from Decari Prater. Jah’Noah Harris had 34 yards on the ground, and Spencer Hubbard had 14 yards receiving. Jaylen Johnson had two catches, and he also had a great night punting the ball, averaging just over 43 yards per punt to flip the field position for the Curley Wolves.
