Fouke- Great pitching performances, timely hitting, and a straight steal of home helped the Curley Wolves beat Fouke in a big conference matchup 4-0. Pierce Yates found himself in a bit of a jam in the bottom of the 4thinning with the bases loaded an no outs. Yates pulled a bit of a Houdini act and escaped the jam with no runs allowed after a huge strikeout and a little help from SS Carston Poole as he snagged a line drive and doubled off a runner at second base to escaped the inning. Yates was excellent on the mound tossing 5 innings of scoreless ball while striking out 6. Carston Poole would come in and pitch a scoreless 6th and 7th inning and closed the door on a Panthers rally in the 7th inning to secure the 4-0 Prescott victory. The Prescott offense was kept off balance the first trip through the lineup, but Branen Bradley drew a leadoff walk in the 4th inning, then Yates helped his own cause as he roped a triple over the center fielders’ head for the first run of the game. Carston Poole hit a rocket to left to drive in Yates. Later in the inning Poole pulled off a very impressive straight steal home to give Prescott a 3-0 lead. Spencer Hubbard would knock in a big insurance run in the 6th inning on a groundout to short. Avery Hubbard and Marketric Mixon each added singles for the Curley Wolves.
