Defense Shuts Down Fordyce, Prescott Wins 17-0
Prescott- Friday night was the home-opener for the Curley Wolves as they hosted the Redbugs from Fordyce. The Curley Wolves defense played lights out all game, pitching a shutout while forcing 3 turnovers, an INT and 2 Fumble recoveries. Offensively, a slow start for the Wolves offense with the only points in the 1st half coming on a 30-yd FG by kicker John Rabadan that gave Prescott a 3-0 lead at halftime. Prescott would keep the defensive intensity up in the 2nd half and allowed next to nothing in the 2nd half. Ja’Noah Harris would get the scoring going in the 3rd quarter with a 20-yard TD run to extend the Prescott lead to 10-0. Around halfway through the final quarter, Tiquan Box got into the endzone from 1-yard out to cap off a 17-0 Curley Wolves victory.

Could not ask for a better night defensively from this pack of Curley Wolves, forcing 3 turnovers and recording 5 sacks as the defense lived in the Fordyce backfield all game long. The defensive line won the battle in the trenches all game long to stymie the Redbug offense. Talan Smith recorded 18 total tackles and forcing a fumble to lead the way for the defense. Meanwhile, the Fordyce QB is going to have nightmares about Jamarion Burton as he had himself a night recording 3 sacks and also forcing a fumble. Richard Benton had a great night with an INT and a fumble recovery. Decari Prater had 2 pass breakups as the Prescott “No Fly-Zone” secondary refuses to give up anything.

Offensively, Jah’Noah Harris led the ground attack with 59 yards rushing and a TD. KJ Page piled up 48 yards on three carries, and Tiquan Box had a 1-Yard TD run. PJ Gulley caught 3 passes for 71 yards. John Rabadan nailed a 30-yard FG and was 2/2 on PATs. The Curley Wolves (2-1) travel to Hope this next Friday to take on the Bobcats (1-1). Kickoff is at 7PM.
