Troop 5 went on their annual DeGray lake Trip August 27-29. Staying at Ross
Rhodes Scout Reservation near Arlie Moore Access, the Scouts had a lot of
fun tubing, swimming, water skiing and jumping off a rock face into the
lake. Troop Order of the Arrow Elections were held.
Cooking was coordinated by Donnie Golden and Karen Smith. Food for the trip
was donated by Hope Auto. The Scouts cooked the breakfasts which included
pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs for breakfast burritos .
Donnie Golden smoked weiners, bratwurst, hot links, smoked sausage, boudain,
pork ribs, pork loin, pork roast, chicken and vegetables.

Boats were provided by Dr. Donald Sitzes, Ed Flagg and Donnie Golden.

Troop 5 is sponsored by the Century Bible Class of Hope's First United
Methodist Church.
