LITTLE ROCK, AR —Democratic nominee for Governor of Arkansas Chris Jones continues his Walk A Mile In Your Shoes tour this week in Russellville and Hot Springs. Jones has joined with neighbors walking with neighbors to walk a cumulative 2.5 million steps and counting since Jones started his second statewide 75-county tour in June. While Jones’ opponent Sarah Huckabee Sanders resumed her limited tour this month after a nearly four-month break, Jones has never stopped and continues to walk side-by-side with everyday Arkansans, listening to the issues most pressing in their lives, remaining faithful to finding pragmatic solutions. Â
“Arkansans need a governor that understands the challenges they face because they’re willing to walk in their shoes. We’re back on the road in Russellville and Hot Springs to speak with Arkansans about our vision to address the serious challenges our communities face and spread PB&J (Preschool, Broadband, & Jobs) across every corner of Arkansas, including Pope and Garland County. We won’t stop until we have unlocked the potential of Arkansas for every one of our neighbors across every last street. Arkansas, now and as your governor, I’ll always meet you where you are– because that’s where growth starts. Together, we can elevate our politics – and our great state. Join us” Jones said.Â

Jones aspires to help Arkansans unlock their full potential and for the state to reach its promise through Faith, Hope and Hard Work.
About Chris Jones
Dr. Chris Jones grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. A son of two preachers, Chris was raised with a strong sense of faith. He attended Morehouse College on a NASA Scholarship, for physics and math, then went on to study at MIT becoming a nuclear engineer and earning a Ph.D. in urban planning. After becoming ordained as a minister, Chris returned home to Arkansas and led the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. Through this work, he has seen firsthand how disparities within Arkansas have gotten worse, not better. He believes there is much room for growth, including improving public education opportunities in every community, strengthening infrastructure from roads to broadband access, protecting and securing our right to vote, and bridging the rural and urban divide. Chris has faith in Arkansas’s potential, and he’s running for governor to ensure every person in Arkansas has an opportunity to succeed.
