Hope- The Lady Cats hosted the Lady Leopards at Lady Cat Field on Friday night in a conference matchup. Grace Trauger got the nod from the Lady Cats skipper, as she started the game in the circle for Hope. The Lady Leopards had some traffic on the bases, but Grace worked hard and found a way to limit the damage, as she received some help from third baseman Payton Rhodes, who made a lot of plays third, and SS Ava Brown who made a couple of great plays at short, including a diving catch on a line-drive. The Lady Cats were trailing 4-0 headed into the bottom of the 4th inning, as they finally scratched a run across the board as Yoshigei Gonzales smashed an RBI single to make the game 4-1. The Lady Leopards would put up a 4-spot in the 4th inning, as they kind of put the game out of reach, and the Lady Cats would drop the game 8-1.
Yoshigei Gonzalez, Grace Trauger, and Maddison Brown each had hits for the Lady Cats. Trauger, Bella Elliot, and Tanasia Young each drew a walk for Hope, and Tanasia swiped a stolen base as well.
You can find the Lady Cats back in action next week as they welcome Nashville to Lady Cat Field in a conference matchup.
