Doc Washburn to Speak at Ward Country Dance

Republican gubernatorial candidate Doc Washburn will speak at the Ward Country Dance Meet and Greet on Friday, April 15, 2022, 7 – 9 pm. The event will take place at Ward Country Dance, AR 319 and Hickory St., Ward, Arkansas, 72176.

Washburn, 66, formally filed as a candidate in the Republican primary for governor on February 25, 2022. He was the longtime host of a popular conservative radio talk show in central Arkansas until he was fired for refusing to comply with the company’s vaccine mandate.

Washburn advocates for smaller government, individual liberty, and self-reliance. He’s widely known for opposing state and federal covid mitigation policies, challenging the integrity of the 2020 presidential election, and rejecting vaccine mandates. Washburn opposes abortion, chemical gender change for minors, the use of Critical Race Theory in public schools, and removal of children from loving parents by child welfare workers. He supports gun rights, affirms the rights of veterans, and has proposed the elimination of the personal income tax, small business income tax, and the tax on all used goods, including vehicles.

Washburn has earned national recognition as a frequent guest host for syndicated talk radio host Mark Levin. Since October 2021, Washburn has been the host of The Doc Washburn Show, a podcast with an international following. Since announcing his candidacy for governor of Arkansas, Washburn has been endorsed by Re-Open Arkansas, Gun Owners of Arkansas, Ozark Patriots, and Arkansas Patriot Coalition. Washburn and his wife Peggy live in Little Rock, where they attend Covenant PCA Church.
