Cameron Bush got the nod from Coach Hudson and did not disappoint, striking out 9 batters and allowing just 2 hits in 4 innings of work, earning the win. Preston Looney came in relief and shut the door on the Knights, striking out a batter in the final inning.
At the plate, the Dragons got the bats working early, as they scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and exploded for 8 more in the bottom of the 2nd inning, as they had a stranglehold on the game from then on. Very patient at the dish, the Dragons drew 7 walks, collected 5 hits and limited the strikeouts, putting a lot of pressure on the pitching and defense of the Knights.
Brody Helms smacked a double and had 2 RBI to pace the offense. Nate Thomas had a single and drew a pair of walks, Will Spears had a single and an RBI, Riley Mudford and Hayden Teer each had a single. Mudford added an RBI.
The Dragons are back in action on Friday night as they travel to Ashdown for a big game with the Panthers with first place on the line.
