In the game against Mt. Pine, the Dragons got out to a hot start and ran away with this game, as they secured a 40+ point win. Jaxon Muhl led the way with 12 points. Muhl also grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 steals. Braxton Robertson and Josh Philyaw each scored 10 points. Philyaw added 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Robertson added 2 assists. Brayden Cobb poured in 9 points and dished out 2 assists, while Peyton Hicks scored 6 points, pulled doown 5 boards and was great defensively with 4 steals and 2 blocks.
Genoa Central 75 Blevins 79
In the semi-final game against the Hornets, the Dragons were in a nail-biter with Blevins, but fell just short at the end, as they dropped the game 79-75. Brayden Cobb shot the lights out, hitting six 3-pointers and finished the game with 22 points and 3 assists. Braxton Robertson scored 17 points with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Peyton Hicks posted another double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and added 3 blocks. Jaxon Muhl continued to have a great weekend with another 10-point game, adding 3 rebounds.
Genoa Central 59 Bismarck 54
Peyton Hick would lead the way with 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 blocks, as the Dragons beat a familiar opponent 59-54 in their tournament finale. Brayden Cobb poured in 13 points with 2 assists and 4 steals. Braxton Robertson and Jaxon Muhl each scored 9 points in this one, and Robertson dished out a team-high 5 assists. Brody Helms scored 6 points and finished with 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
Great tourney for the Dragons, as they picked up two big wins over the holidays. Genoa Central is back in action against the Lions of Bismarck in a road conference game on Tuesday night.
