Dragons Drop Tough Game to Warren 3-1 at HSU on Wednesday
Arkadelphia- Genoa Central and Warren met up for a non-conference game at Clyde Berry Field at Henderson State on Wednesday night and runs were at a premium, as both pitching staffs did an excellent job of limiting solid contact, as there were only six combined hits for the Dragons and Lumberjacks. All of which were singles.

The Dragons had a miscue that led to an early run for Warren in the top of the 1st. Genoa would push their lone run across when Riley Mudford wore a fastball with the bases loaded to get credited with the RBI, as Cameron Bush scored the Dragons run. The Lumberjacks would get out of the jam, leaving the game tied at 1 headed into the 5th inning. The Lumberjacks would push across another run on a mishap for the Dragons to take a 2-1 lead after the top half of the 5th. Warren would also tack on a run with a SAC fly in the 6th inning to take a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the 7th inning, the Dragons would load the bases up after a Gray Wallace walk, a 2-out hit by Brayden Cobb single, and an intentional walk to Braxton Robertson. Warren would escape the bases loaded jam to clinch the 3-1 win.

Nicholas Wells got the nod from Coach Hudson on Wednesday night and he did an excellent job on the mound, working through some tough situations, and forcing a lot of soft contact which led to seven ground ball putouts for the Dragons. Wells finished the night with 2 strikeouts and only allowing 1 base-hit. Braxton Robertson came in in relief and had some good swing and miss going, as he struck out 4 Lumberjacks.

At the plate for Genoa Central, Braxton Robertson reached base safely in all four plate appearances with a hard-hit single, 2 walks, and an intentional walk. Cameron Bush and Brayden Cobb each had singles and a walk. Hayden Teer and Gray Wallace worked walks, while Riley Mudford was hit by a pitch and got an RBI.

Genoa Central is back on the diamond Friday night as they host PVA.
