EAST ARKANSAS OPERATION RESULTS IN SEIZURE OF STOLEN GUNS, ILLEGAL DRUGS AND 20 ARRESTS
May 28, 2024 MARIANNA, Ark. — During a 9-hour operation, Arkansas State Police (ASP) conducted a saturation initiative in Lee County, resulting in the seizure of illegal items, including five firearms, Methamphetamine, Ecstasy pills, and illegal marijuana. Twenty individuals were physically arrested.

The operation began at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, and ended at 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

During the operation, ASP issued 156 citations for various offenses. Eight individuals were arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Troopers also made two felony warrant arrests.

Other citations issued included speeding (13), not wearing a seat belt (22), and not using child restraints (10). ASP made a total of 278 contacts during the operation.

Three of the five confiscated firearms were reported as stolen.

"The most significant success of the operation was the response from the community, “ said ASP Captain Philip Hydron, Troop D Commander. “They expressed genuine appreciation for our presence and the proactive stance of law enforcement in addressing criminal activities.”
