Elemental Faces: The Portraits of Spot Daniel
Prescott, Arkansas - Join the Nevada County Depot Museum in Prescott, Arkansas their newest exhibit, “Elemental Faces: The Portraits of Spot Daniel.” The opening reception is scheduled for 5 -7 p.m. on Thursday, September 18. The Nevada County Depot Museum is pleased to present a retrospective of portraits by
Prescott native, Spot Daniel. A self-taught artist who began painting at age 66, Daniel
transformed everyday materials, such as cardboard, wood scrap, trash cans, golf carts, even
rooftops, into canvases for his whimsical visions. “Elemental Faces” explores the late artists
unique view of people: his neighbors, politicians, celebrities, and more.

“This isn’t just an exhibit—it’s a chance to see the world through Spot’s eyes: playful, peculiar,
and profoundly human,” shared Depot Museum director, Jamie Simmons. “Mr. Daniel had a
unique style that brings out the character of each person.”

The exhibit opens Thursday, September 18, with a reception scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at
the old armory building, 841 Gee Street, in Prescott, Arkansas. This reception is open to the
public. The exhibit will be available by appointment beginning on September 20. For more

The exhibit is presented by the Nevada County Depot Museum, a non-profit humanities
