HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Cam Harrison earned the start for Arkansas, while Oklahoma went with Isabella Smith.
Harrison pitched a scoreless first inning, highlighted by Kennedy Miller throwing out the Sooners' Abigale Dayton attempting to steal second base for the second out of the frame.
Courtney Day gave the Hogs a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with a towering three-run home run to left field. Raigan Kramer and Kailey Wyckoff scored on the three-run shot after reaching on a walk and single, respectively.
Oklahoma would answer a half-inning later with six runs, highlighted by a solo home run from Gabbie Garcia and a three-run shot from Nicole McEnroe-Marinas. Garcia's home run was reviewed as it looked to hit the top of the wall in right field before bouncing back into play, but the ruling was upheld after review. Lexi King, relieved Harrison and recorded the first out of the frame before Reis Beuerlein entered after McEnroe-Marinas' three-run homer and recorded the final two outs of the frame.
A Kennedy Miller single up the middle was the lone hit of the home half of the second for the Razorbacks.
Reis Beuerlein retired the Sooners in order in the top of the third inning by way of a flyout, groundout and lineout. In the bottom of the third, Bri Ellis put Arkansas within one with a two-run homer to center field that scored Wyckoff, who reached on a walk.
Oklahoma scored two more courtesy of Garcia's second homer of the contest in the fourth inning and added two more runs with an RBI single and double in the fifth inning from McEnroe-Marinas and Ella Parker, respectively.
Payton Burnham was called into the circle with two outs in the fourth inning and would allow just one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out three in her 3.1 innings of work.
Wyckoff doubled to left-center field in the bottom of the fifth and then came around to score on Ellis' second two-run homer of the contest.
Following the homer, Sam Landry came into pitch for the Sooners and will yield just one hit and a walk over the final 2.1 innings of play to earn a save.
Ellis singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie a single-game career high with three hits, but Landry and Oklahoma would escape with a groundout to end the game.
