The 2023 Arkansas All-State High School selections were made this past week and Spring Hill’s Erin McMaster and Prescott’s Pierce Yates have been selected to their All-State Teams. These teams are made up of the best of the best baseball and softball players from the great state of Arkansas. We at SWARK Today want to say congratulations to both Erin McMaster and Pierce Yates.
SAU commit Erin McMaster was named to the 2A All-State team. Erin was tremendous from the pitchers circle this past season for the Lady Bears and was a staple in the batting lineup. Erin went on a very impressive run as she tossed 14 innings in the first and second round of the Regional Tourney, allowing 0 ER and only 3 hits and piling up 17Ks against Ouachita and Parkes Chapel.
Junior pitcher and shortstop, Pierce Yates was named to the 3A All-State team. Pierce Yates was definitely not only one of the best pitchers in 3A, but the entire state of Arkansas no matter the classification. Yates pitched a gem in the 1st round of the State Tournament in Rogers against Elkins as he tossed a 1-hitter and struck out 14 batters.
