Fair Park Egg Hunt draws dozens to Kelly Fields Thursday afternoon

About a hundred youngsters ranging from toddlers to ten year olds, split into three age groups, scrambled into the grass and among dirt piles at Kelly Fields in Hope’s Fair Park Thursday afternoon, gathering hundreds of pastel-colored plastic eggs into baskets.

Some of those eggs contained messages awarding candy and toy-filled Easter baskets to a few lucky children. These were claimed about twenty minutes after the hunting began.

Also available were helium balloons, courtesy of the Ben Hale for Prosecutor campaign, and opportunities to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Many kids in attendance took full advantage.

Despite three prior days in a row of stormy weather, the skies over this year’s egg hunt were clear blue and somehow the kids went about their business in ground unmarred by mudholes.
