On Tuesday afternoon, the Hope Fire Department responded to a grass/leaf fire at Hope Fair Park. Upon their arrival, they observed grass and leaves burning at the northern fence along West Seventh Street near the pool. The fire damaged approximately 100 feet of the newly installed steel fence. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. This is the second time the fence has been damaged since its installation in the early fall. A vehicle ran through a portion of the fence just west of Mockingbird Street several weeks ago. The amount of damage is unknown at this time.
