Farm Bureau celebrates new building and location with ribbon cutting

The surprise cold snap didn't keep the crowd away during today's ribbon cutting for Hempstead County's new building and location in Hope where numerous members of the community turned up to join the Farm Bureau family in the celebration. A small program preceded the ribbon cutting, and speakers shared their joy for the occasion in addition to thoughts on being a part of an organization like Farm Bureau.

During his remarks to the crowd, Agency Manager Reed Camp shared with guests the reason behind Farm Bureau's accomplishment. "We know our organization here would not be as successful as it is if it weren't for the exceptional people of Hempstead County," Camp also shared appreciation for the dedication of the Farm Bureau staff and Board of Directors, as well as the Women's Committee. "It amazes me the things they accomplish in this community. It's because of the love they have for agriculture and their love for this community."

Retired Agency Manager Warren Plyler said his time with Farm Bureau holds fond memories. "I always considered it an honor to be able to have a job where I raised my family in an organization as honorable as this one." He then shared a story about the power of the organization's values and finished it with, "One thing I always appreciated about Farm Bureau is the first question they ask is, 'Is it right?'"

Retired Agency Manager Larry Garlington complimented the new building and location, followed by "What really makes the Hempstead County Farm Bureau what it is are the people. This is just the fruit of all the labor during the many years Farm Bureau has been here."

Rich Hillman, the President of Arkansas Farm Bureau, gave his congratulations to Hempstead County Farm Bureau and expressed praise as well. "This is a great day for Hempstead County and I can't tell you how proud I was to see the amount of people when I pulled up. This is really something." Hillman also shared appreciation for the staff, board, and members for all their hard work in Hempstead County over the years and their support for the rural way of life. "What you do is so important, not just this facility, not just the people inside, but the investment you all make each and every day."

Hope Mayor Don Still concluded the program by thanking Farm Bureau and saying, "What a beautiful addition to Hope. The citizens of Hope thank you for the investment and everything you do for us." He then gathered the Farm Bureau family for the cutting of the ribbon. Afterwards, guests gathered inside for food, fellowship, and a tour of the new building.

The new Hempstead County Farm Bureau is located at 110 N Hervey Street in Hope, complete with a new drive-thru window, a meeting room, and a hospitality bar full of coffee, water, and snacks. The Farm Bureau staff said they invite all local residents to stop by and check out their new building and location; plus, they would enjoy the opportunity to share with all Hempstead County citizens what Farm Bureau has to offer.
