Farm Bureau Women's Committee Brings Farming Fun to Community Coffee

The Hempstead County Farm Bureau Women's Committee hosted this week's Chamber Community Coffee, and per their usual style, these ladies served an impressive spread. With farm-themed snacks and cutlery, these tasty treats were not just flavorful, but fun to eat as well. Committee Chairperson Mindy Lockhart said the ladies were delighted to be hosting this week's Coffee and that they enjoy making sweets and snacks with an agricultural theme. "We are excited to be here and bring these farm-related goodies to our community," Lockhart said. "We try to be creative and unique so we can keep it all about the farm and promote agriculture in our community and schools."

The cow patties (no bake chocolate oatmeal cookies), hay stacks (similar to a rice krispy treat), and chicken feed (Chex mix snack) were some favorites among participants, in addition to the lively atmosphere. Coffee patrons and the ladies of the committee enjoyed the morning, chatting and laughing together during another successful community event.

Next weeks' Chamber Community Coffee Community Coffee will be hosted by and held at the Hempstead County Library from 9:30am to 11am.
