Farmers Bank & Trust Donates Building in Prescott, AR

Prescott, AR (February 9, 2020) – Farmers Bank & Trust recently donated a building to the Nevada County Industrial Development Corporation Charitable Foundation. The building located in downtown Prescott, AR, was originally the Bank of Prescott branch office. The Bank of Prescott moved to 103 E 2nd Street in 1960, and Farmers Bank & Trust purchased the Bank of Prescott in 2019. The building will be rented to an agency that helps local children, The Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center.

Mary Godwin, Executive Director of Economic Development for the Nevada County Industrial Development Corporation Charitable Foundation, said, "The donation of this property will allow our organization to meet the needs in our growing commercial district. A heartfelt thank you to Farmers Bank & Trust for this extremely generous donation. We appreciate their vision and commitment to Prescott and Nevada County. Great partnerships such as this one will only improve our community."

"Serving as President of the local Economic Development Board and Prescott Market President for Farmers Bank & Trust, I am happy to see the ownership of the former branch building on Main Street be deeded to the EDO Charitable Foundation by Farmers Bank & Trust. The building will serve our community's needs for years to come in various capacities, I'm sure. It is the first building in our downtown area you see when driving into town from I-30, so the Bank needed to have the vision and willingness to keep the building in good hands. Initially, the building will be rented to a service agency that will help children in the area, and we are happy to get off to a good start for a good cause. I'm sure the EDO Charitable Foundation will take good care of the building. It will continue to be part of our attractive entrance to the town along with NAPA, the Nevada County Library, and the large mural at Sterling Square. A big part of community development is keeping your downtown and business areas as attractive as possible, and I appreciate the Bank looking out for Prescott with their generous donation of this property." said John Brannan, Farmers Bank & Trust Prescott Market President.
