Despite a steady rain outside locals slid on their best rain boots and gathered in the community room at First National Bank of Tom Bean for a warm welcome, plenty of conversation, and a table overflowing with homemade favorites.
Guests were treated to an impressive spread featuring sandwiches, chips and dips, pork sliders topped with a special sauce, sausage and new potatoes served on toothpicks, spinach dip, a crowd-favorite corn dip, and an assortment of other delicious offerings. A variety of punches rounded out the menu as visitors enjoyed a relaxed morning together. Tables and décor carried a festive red, white, and blue theme in celebration of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, adding a patriotic touch to the occasion.
Friends, neighbors, business leaders, and local residents took the opportunity to catch up and share about current events and upcoming happenings around the community. Among the topics creating plenty of excitement were the Hope Watermelon Festival and this year’s incredible concert lineup showcasing Gretchen Wilson and Mae Estes.
“We were honored to host today’s Community Coffee and grateful to see so many friends, customers, business leaders, and neighbors come through our doors,” said Brian Lee, Market President of First National Bank of Tom Bean. “We appreciate the opportunity to serve this community, and each of our customers remains our top priority. Events like these are special because they allow us to spend time together, enjoy good conversation, and strengthen the relationships that make Hope such a wonderful place to live and work.”
Christy Burns, Executive Director of the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, thanked First National Bank of Tom Bean for sponsoring the morning’s event.
“Community Coffees are one of my favorite Chamber traditions because they shine a spotlight on the businesses that help keep our local economy strong,” Burns said. “They give us an opportunity to celebrate our members, share what’s happening in our community, and remind folks to support the businesses that support Hope and Hempstead County. We appreciate First National Bank of Tom Bean for hosting and for their continued investment in our area.”
Although rain showers lingered throughout the morning, they certainly didn’t dampen spirits. Folks traded umbrellas for fellowship, and a few even splashed in wearing their rain boots. After all, around here, a little rain has never stopped Hope from showing up. The coffee, conversation, and community spirit were flowing just fine, proving once again that neighbors always find a reason to gather, rain or shine.
