A mass of locals and church goers came to join in the festivities and mingle. Everyone snacked on a variety of finger foods and sweet treats with a gorgeous arrangement of flowers done by Hope Floral on the center table.
Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said “I’m proud of the turnout this morning in support of First United Methodist Church. It’s always good to see the community come together.”
Congregation member, Terri Hoglund talked about today’s community coffee, “Although Pastor Tom Mullins has attended many community coffees, we haven’t formally introduced him to the community yet. Since our church is located downtown and we’re working to promote it as the downtown church, we felt it was the right time to reintroduce ourselves. We actually did something similar about a year ago, and now seemed like a good time to do it again—to get our name back out there and remind people that we’re here.”
