Event: | FLOOD WATCH Alert: | FLOOD WATCH ISSUED OCTOBER 4 AT 2:30AM CDT UNTIL OCTOBER 5 AT 7:00AM CDT * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, including the following counties, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada and Sevier. Portions of southeast Oklahoma, including the following county, McCurtain. Portions of northeast Texas, including the following counties, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Marion, Morris, Red River, Titus, Upshur and Wood. * WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later this morning through the afternoon across portions of Northeast Texas, Southwest Arkansas, and extreme Southeast Oklahoma, near a northward moving warm front. While a lull in the thunderstorms may occur later this afternoon, additional showers and thunderstorms containing heavy rainfall will move across the Watch area this evening and overnight. Widespread rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with isolated higher amounts to near 6 inches will be possible through Thursday morning, and could fall over areas which received widespread 5 to 7 inches of rain early last week. The potential for at least localized flash flooding will exist today and tonight across the Watch area.
