Mayor Don Still, who oversees the fireworks show, says the rockets will start glaring at full darkness. “We’re going to shoot them come rain or come shine. We’re waterproof if we need to be,” he said.
Parks Superintendent Summer Chambers described the musical act to perform Saturday. “They're actually coming from Clarksville, Texas. It's Chace Rains and his band. They're different. It's more of an American kind of country rock and roll. Not our typical acts we see. So it's real fun. They're bringing their own emcee,” she said.
Chambers said there’ll be ten food trucks and inflatables for the kids: “The event’s growing every year.”
