The Garrett Memorial Christian School (GMCS) gym was overflowing with proud parents and guests yesterday during the commencement ceremony where eight seniors received their well-deserved diplomas. Also during the ceremony were the announcements of scholarships awarded to the students, including the very first annual Parker Douglas Cooper Memorial Scholarship.

Guest speaker at the event was Pastor Charles Zumwalt of First Baptist Church of Lewisville, in addition to remarks from students Kennedy Hamilton, Kinsey Thomas, Olivia Childress, and Jaci McKamie. Before and after the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to peruse the senior displays which were situated around the gym. These presentations held keepsakes unique to each senior like photos, awards, sports memorabilia, and more items accrued by the students over the years.
