Governor Hutchinson Provides COVID-19 Update

LITTLE ROCK
– Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today's update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.


In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 236 new cases; 1,960 active cases; 1153 hospitalized, which is down 18 from Thursday; 23 on ventilators, which is up 1 from Thursday; deaths added today, 5, for a total of 5,716; a total of 334,458 cases; PCR tests, 3,371; antigen tests, 841.


The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Benton, 46; Pulaski, 23; and Washington, 18.


Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:


“Our new cases are almost identical to last week. Our vaccination levels have declined a bit from previous weeks, but we still have a long way to go. Check the Department of Health website to find a vaccine clinic near you and schedule an appointment today.”
