The event, which seems to get bigger and better with each passing year, was a testament to the generosity of the community. Pastor Curry said the children were visibly pleased and happy to be receiving their presents, which included bicycles and an array of toys.
"It was a wonderful event," Curry said. "And it is all made possible with gracious donations of the sponsors."
This year's giveaway saw an outpouring of support not just from Prescott and Nevada County, but also from neighbors in Hope and Hempstead County. Curry noted that he received amazing donations from individuals and businesses across both areas, allowing the ministry to serve even more families.
The City of Prescott played a major role in ensuring the day ran smoothly. City workers and officials were on hand to help set up tables and organize the Armory, transforming the space into a festive hub for the giveaway.
"This event just keeps growing each year," Curry added, emphasizing how grateful the ministry is for the continued backing.
As always, the success of the Christmas giveaway relies on a long list of community partners who believe in the mission of making sure every child has a smile on Christmas morning. The toys left over after the event are today being delivered to families in need. Therefore, the success of the giveaway is having an impact that spans further than just the event itself.
