PRESCOTT — The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame, in partnership with the Arkansas Community Foundation, recently awarded Hamilton Haven a $1,000 grant.
Hamilton Haven was one of 16 organizations recognized during a Zoom presentation on May 25.
 “We are pleased to support the efforts of grassroots and other nonprofit organizations in Arkansas through our grant program” said Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation Chairman Charles Stewart. “Their work to improve education, health and wellness, youth development, economic development and to strengthen families and helps to validate the mission of the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation.”
Hamilton Haven opened in April 2020 and was one of two Southwest Arkansas non-profits to be selected, along with Camden’s The Hub of Ouachita County.
“We believe in serving our community. What a perfect way to show the love of Jesus Christ through Hamilton Haven.” said Executive Director Michele Hamilton Rhodes. “When individuals come with overwhelmed hearts, hopefully, this house will help them transition to a place of clarity. We know that community matters.”
“What a blessing it is to be recognized as a recipient of the grant from the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame Foundation and what an honor to be included along with such a commendable group of excellent organizations,” added Assistant Executive Director Christy Higginbotham. “Hamilton Haven exists to serve our community and expand our vision and this grant helps us to realize our dreams for the future as well as to continue keeping our doors open to provide assistance to families in crisis. We are so grateful for their support.”
Grant Writer and Public Relations Coordinator Nathan Tidwell represented Hamilton Haven at the online ceremony.
“There were some outstanding organizations represented,” said Tidwell. “To hear from the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame that we were one of 16 organizations selected out of 132 submissions was a testament to the work our team has done.”
