This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of south central Arkansas, southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.
DAY ONE - Today and Tonight…
Thunderstorms will spread east and southeast across the area today through early this evening ahead of a strong Arctic cold front. A few storms could be severe later this morning through early this evening as the storms move east. Damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes will be possible. The severe weather threat should finally end as the storms exit the area this evening.
Cold, Arctic air will move into the area tonight in the wake of the front. Temperatures will rapidly drop below freezing in most locations. Overnight lows along and north of Interstate 30 will likely fall into the upper teens to lower 20s.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN - Sunday through Friday…
A brief window of a very light mix of rain and snow will be possible across South Central Arkansas and Northeast Louisiana between daybreak and noon Sunday. However, no accumulations or impacts are expected.
Cold temperatures are expected areawide Sunday night and into Monday morning. Overnight lows along and north of Interstate 30 will likely fall into the upper teens to lower 20s. Elsewhere, overnight lows will range from the lower to mid 20s. Cold temperatures will persist into Tuesday morning.
Otherwise, no other hazardous weather is expected at this time.
