On March 6th, 2021 at approximately 2345 hours, Deputies were dispatched to 248 Hempstead 161 West in regards to a possible stabbing and shots being fired at the residence.

Investigators are investigating a stabbing of a 20-year-old male at a residence on Hempstead County road 161 West. With assistance from Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested 21-year-old Chance Adkins of Prescott for Battery in the First Degree. Adkins was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Center and booked on the 1st Degree Battery Charges pending a first court appearance.

The 20-year-old victim was transported to a Texarkana Hospital by Pafford EMS where he was listed in stable condition.
