Upon arrival contact was made with Store Manager who stated when she arrived at approximately 6:15 a.m, she entered the store and set off the alarm and then saw hat the cigarette cabinet was open and the safe had been broken into. Deputies found a hole cut into the northwest corner wall of the store. The safe doors were cut at the hinges with a grinder and the money taken from the safe.
One suspect was observed on CCTV footage entering the store office and breaking open the file cabinets to locate the deposit bag for the store. Less than $2,000 in cash, cigarettes, and other merchandise was taken in the burglary.
This is the latest in a series of similar burglaries at Dollar General Stores in the four states area, Investigators are working with other jurisdictions in trying to determine if the same suspect (s) are involved in other areas.
