Hempstead County Courthouse, Road Department, and Waste Department will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 to observe Independence Day! Trash routes for Hempstead County residents for Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, will be collected on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.  Please have it out by 7:00 AM. Hempstead County COURTHOUSE will be closed Friday, July 5, 2024, due to Sprinkler System maintenance and inspections.  This will take several hours to do and  due to the alarms going off and water being turned off the company said it would be best to close the Courthouse while they are testing the system.
