Hempstead County Courthouse Closed to the Public; Open by Appointment Only

Effective March 18, 2020, Judge Jerry Crane issued Executive Order NO 2020-7, declaring a local state of emergency. The Hempstead County Courthouse has closed to the public and the following protocols have been implemented until further notice:

  1. All access to the Hempstead County Courthouse is limited to essential personnel

  2. No one will be allowed to enter the county offices without an appointment

  3. Appointments can be made by contacting the office in question

  4. Anyone needing to conduct business within the courthouse will be subject to screenings, including checking of the temperature to see that it is below 99.6 degrees, and the individual does not display any other outward symptoms of the virus

  5. We strongly encourage those needing to conduct business via telephone, email or fax

  6. Other measures may be impemented as needed to provide for the safety and welfare of the County Employees

By order of County Judge, Jerry T. Crane, the Hempstead County Courthouse is open by appointment ONLY. Please call the number of the office needed from the list below to discuss an appointment and an officer will assist you upon entry.
