The Hempstead County Fair Time will be here before you know it!  4-H’ers and FFA members are working hard preparing their livestock projects for the Hempstead County Fair and Livestock Show.

Each qualifying livestock exhibitor has the opportunity to take one animal through the sale.  This is a premium sale, meaning there is no change of ownership. This is simply a donation towards the cost of the livestock project of the youth.  The Jr. Livestock Show Premium Sale, with light refreshments, will be held Friday, Sept. 3rd, at 11:30 am at the Hope Coliseum. The Premium Sale begins at 12:00 noon. A list of exhibitors will be available after August 21st.

We invite & encourage you to attend the sale to support the youth that are the Agricultural Future of Hempstead County. Your tax-deductible donations will be greatly appreciated by the exhibitors.

Exhibitors use these funds in several ways, examples are:

  • Purchasing animals for next year’s project

  • Financing trips to exhibit at the State Fair,

  • Buying feed

  • Vet bills

  • Saving money to apply toward college.

If you have any questions about the sale, please feel free to call Mindy Lockhart at (870) 777-6140 or the members of the Jr. Livestock Sale Committee (listed below).

Sincerely,

Hempstead County Fair Board

and

Jr. Livestock Sale Committee: Kyle Webb and Steven Mullins
