The Hope Farmers’ Market had a great start this morning with a small crowd of customers right at open and with the Hempstead County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee at the Hospitality Table. These lovely ladies always put out a great spread with farm-themed treats and snacks, and this morning they did not disappoint. Mindy Lockhart, Chairperson of Hempstead County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, said she and the rest of the ladies were excited to be at the Hope Farmers’ Market this week. "We enjoy hosting the Hospitality Table and participating in Farmers' Market," Lockhart said. "It gives us a chance to get out and see the local farmers, plus communicate with the people of Hope and Hempstead County."
In attendance at the Market this morning were Arnold Farms, Silvey Farms, Solomon Farms, Salinas Farms, as well as the Mint Man, Farm on the Hill, Jennifer Martinez, Young Sprouts, Georgia's, and Carolyn's Kitchen.
The Hope Farmers' Market takes place every Tuesday at the Hub in downtown Hope from 7am to 11am. Some vendors accept WIC vouchers and/or debit cards. All participants get free entry into the weekly drawing of a gift basket with goodies from vendors and the weekly host.
