Salt was a major commodity and was found around southwest Arkansas in many areas. Salts works were even used by the Native American tribes that lived in the region. The summer Arkansas Archeological Dig will explore one of these Native American sites in southwest Arkansas. Come learn about the upcoming summer archeological dig in Sevier County from Dr. Carl Drexler, Arkansas Archeological Survey Archeologist at Southern Arkansas University.
The Hempstead County Historical Society will meet on Tuesday evening April 25, 2023 at the Presbyterian Church in Washington, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.
