Darling first brought up how the sheriff's office was experiencing some "unexpected expense," highlighting issues with the cost of maintenance for police cars and a 58% increase in the price of gar in the area. Darling says that the finance committee will meet in the next week or so to discuss this matter.

Darling also brought up that the county isn't being very competitive in the market place with some of their wages, highlighting how some fast food places pay for their employees than the county does for truck drivers in the area. He brought up how they could use the CARES Act or the American Rescue funds money in order to cover premium pay and cover those positions for the text two years, saying that 40% of those jobs are in roads and waste. Darling says that the budget impact in order to "at least get in the game" to get competitive would be a quarter of a million dollars.

A lot of discussion was made over these issues, but no final decision was made.
