Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative hosted the Hempstead County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 11. Districts competing were Garrett Memorial, Spring Hill and Hope.
The winners were: First place, eighth grader Ramsey Beck from Hope Academy of Public Service who will move on to the State Spelling Bee in March. The second place winner was Will Moritz, a sixth grader at Garrett Memorial Christian School who will serve as an alternate.
Southwest Arkansas Education Cooperative provides services to nine districts in southwest Arkansas.
