Hempstead Hall held a hardy happening in Hope on Wednesday morning. The Community Coffee was held in the rotunda of UAHC’s premier event and concert venue, with college staff and community leaders in attendance. In addition to coffee, the crowd was treated to a plethora of buffet-style treats catered by Sheba’s Family Restaurant, including meatballs, pulled pork sliders, chicken enchilada dip, brownies, and other mouth-watering delicacies.
This week, coffee attendees were treated to a meet and greet with the college’s new chancellor, Dr. Christine Holt. A transplant from the University of Missouri System, Holt said that, since she started about three weeks ago, she’s done her best to meet, in person, with all the faculty and staff members at UAHT.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve as chancellor…I said during my interview that we are going to catapult this place, that we are an example for student success not only in terms of academics, but in what we can do to serve the community,” Dr. Holt said during her greeting to the crowd.
