HHS Teacher Named Grant Winner

HOPE – Sheila Hopson, business/computer science teacher at Hope High School, has been awarded one of 35 sponsorship grants recently announced by the Arkansas Department of Education.

“The sponsorships will assist educators with expanding their knowledge of computer science and give them the opportunity to network with other educators from around the world at the Computer Science Teachers Association conference, which will be held in Arlington, Va., July 11-15, 2020,” the ADE announced.

The $2,000 grants were awarded to Arkansas K-12 public school teachers and other educators who have a demonstrated commitment to technology integration and computer science education in their school district, the ADE said. Awards were based upon selections by an ADE committee and statewide computer science specialists using a scored rubric, and are intended to reimburse grantee expenses in attending the CSTA conference.
