(WASHINGTON, Ark.) - Are you interested in historical dyeing methods? Join us on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a beginner's Historic Dyeing 101: Cotton Edition workshop focusing on 19th century dyeing techniques for plant fibers. From mordants and fixatives to dyes and dyebaths, you'll learn the entire process from start to finish. Each participant will have the opportunity to dye and take home two mini-skeins of 100% cotton to use in any of their future projects.
Registration is required. Cost for attendance is $15 per person. Class will break for a one-hour lunch (on your own). Contact the park visitor center at 870-983-2684 to register.
