Hogs, High Point set for 8:45 CT Saturday
By Otis Kirk

Arkansas and High Point will meet in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night at 8:45 pm CT from Portland with the game televised on TBS.

No. 14 Arkansas (27-8) is a four-seed in the West Regional while High Point (31-4) is seeded No. 12. The Razorbacks defeated Hawai'i 97-78 Thursday while High Point ousted five-seed Wisconsin 83-82.

Since High Point defeated the Badgers in the game prior to Arkansas' then John Calipari knew who the Razorbacks would play if they defeated the Rainbow Warriors. Calipari was asked how quickly he starts preparing for High Point?

"First of all, I'll be walking the streets of Portland tonight enjoying this," Calipari said Thursday. "But, I've got three tapes that I got to watch of High Point.

"They're good. Wisconsin found out they are good. And they're not afraid. I recruited Cam (Cam'Ron Fletcher) to Kentucky. I know how good he is. So they're good. I mean, we're not walking in thinking, Okay, this will be an easy one. No, it won't. None of 'em are easy.

"I've been telling these guys, You're going to look and you're worried about somebody in front of you, and they get beat. Then you're playing somebody else. That's why you don't even need to watch games. Just stay in the moment. Let's stay in the five-minute segments. Let's stay locked in."

Darius Acuff Jr. now has 223 assists to set the single-season record. He broke the mark of Kareem Reid, who also was a freshman at the time, in 1995-96. Acuff scored 24 points against Hawai'i and now has 781 points. That is just five shy of the 786 set by Todd Day in 1990-91.
