FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas has added Orangeburg-Wilkinson (S.C.) Class of 2026 athlete Jordan Avinger to the running back room.
Avinger, 6-3, 225, committed to the Razorbacks on Friday morning over the other finalist East Carolina and a dozen offers. The recruiting was unique for Avinger since many rank him the No. 1 linebacker in South Carolina and the Razorbacks were the only school to offer him as a running back. He officially visited Arkansas the May 30-June 1 weekend. He talked about what pushed the Hogs over the top on his visit.
“The hospitality and love they showed, and the players, they make you feel at home," Avinger said.
On offense in 2024, Avinger carried 56 times for 869 yards and 10 touchdowns. He caught 11 passes for 275 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On defense, Avinger added 50 tackles, 39 solo, six for loss and forced one fumble.
Avinger is the first running back for Arkansas in the Class of 2026.
