FAYETTEVILLE -- No. 6 Arkansas got an 11-1 run-rule win over Texas-Arlington Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium.
The Razorbacks walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with one out. Christian Turner, pinch hitting for Damian Ruiz, walked as did Camden Kozeal. That brought pinch hitter Carter Rutenbar to the plate in place of Ryder Helfrick. Rutenbar singled to center field to end the game.
The Hogs got another outstanding pitching effort from Colin Fisher. He worked six innings allowing five hits, one unearned run, walking a hitter, striking out seven and hitting a batter. It followed his one-hitter the previous Sunday. Lonoke's Steele Eaves worked a perfect seventh striking out one.
Arkansas pounded out 14 hits in the game including three home runs. Zack Stewart hit a solo shot while Kozeal and Helfrick hit two-run shots.
"I felt really good," Helfrick said of being at the plate. "I think we're finally getting there."
Helfrick led the team with three hits while knocking in the pair. Kozeal had two hits and plated three runners. Carson Brumbaugh had two hits and an RBI as did Kuhio Aloy. Maika Niu, Stewart, Rutenbar and Ruiz each had one hit and an RBI. Alexander Peck got the other Arkansas hit.
UTA used six pitchers on the day. Starter Zach Evans worked three innings and took the loss. He gave up four runs and did strikeout a two. The fourth pitcher, Jacob Gabler, was touched for five runs and five hits in the sixth. Catcher Ethan Ho got two hits for UTA and Holden Rook got the only RBI.
