On hand was Homecoming Queen Alicia Gulley as well as an illustrious group of young ladies on her Homecoming Court as well as one Homecoming Court gentleman. Also present were three pageant winners, Junior Miss Nevada County Fair 2025 Kennedy Gray, Miss Preteen Nevada County Mari Wren and Miss Nevada County Fair Kyla Joseph.

Nevada High Principal Carol Foster, just before 10:00 a.m. when the event began, told the many who assembled that she was grateful they could be there and in speaking of the Homecoming Court said, “They were chosen by our student body, not only because of who they are, but what they represent in and out of the classroom, and we are very thankful for them and just being great representatives of our school.”

She credited School Nurse Lindsey Casey and eSchool Coordinator Kathy Brown for organizing and making the spread of food for the occasion.  Many Nevada Schools teachers brought dishes.  Photos don’t do justice to the quality of the ham and cheese sliders, bacon-wrapped sausages, crackers and dip, chocolate chip cookies, fruit plate and tropical punch served this morning.

Foster described the homecoming festivities as they will take place at Nevada starting next week. “We play Thursday. Everything starts at five o'clock. Games will follow the Homecoming presentation. We'll kick things off Monday with a community bonfire that's going to be here on campus Monday [at 7:00 p.m]. We'll have a food truck here, music.  Then we'll have a homecoming dance Friday.”  A homecoming pep rally will occur Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
