FAYETTEVILLE – Victories for Rachel Homoly and Rachel Glenn highlighted the first day of the Razorback Invitational while Arkansas alum Shafiqua Maloney produced a world-leading time in the 800m at Randal Tyson Track Center.
Homoly cleared a height of 14-1.25 (4.30) in winning for the second time this season as she improved upon her indoor PR of 14-0 (4.27) and equaled her outdoor career best. Three vaulters tied for second place behind Homoly at 13-7.25 (4.15) that included Oregon’s Isabella Nelson, Tennessee’s Sarah Schmitt, and Kentucky’s Payton Phillips.
Teammates Hannah Estes and Skye Tolbert each cleared 13-1.5 (4.00) in tying for seventh place.
Glenn cleared 6-3.25 (1.91) to claim the high jump victory over Georgia’s Elana Kulichenko, who cleared the same height, while Charity Hufnagel placed third at 6-2 (1.88). Razorback Sydney Billington cleared 5-10.75 (1.80) in finishing fifth.
Glenn cleared her first four heights – 5-10.75 (1.80), 6-0.75 (1.85), 6-2 (1.88), 6-3.25 (1.91) on first attempts while Kulichenko needed a second attempt at 6-3.25. Both missed three attempts at 6-4.25 (1.94).
Maloney cruised to a winning time of 1:59.87 to take over the 2025 world lead from a 2:00.21 by Meghan Hunter set earlier in the day at the Terrier Classic in Boston. Maloney set an indoor best of 1:58.69 at the 2024 Tyson Invitational and her winning performance ranks fourth best all-time in the Tyson Center.
Iowa State’s Makayla Clark finished second in 2:02.44 with Oklahoma State’s Kaylie Politza third in 2:03.47. Razorback Ainsley Erzen finished fourth in the race at 2:05.25 while teammate Analisse Batista won another section in 2:07.01 to place sixth overall.
Arkansas placed fourth in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:55.09 that ranks No. 7 on the UA all-time list.
Anna Podojil led off the race and split 3:22.88 over 1,200m, then Isabella Whittaker sped to a 50.40 split on the 400m leg while Sanu Jallow-Lockhart split 2:01.81 on the 800m leg. Tianna LoStracco finished off the effort with a 1,600m split of 4:40.00.
Oregon won the race in 10:48.45 over a 10:51.40 by LSU and 10:52.08 for Florida. Kentucky placed fifth behind Arkansas in 11:11.19 as the schools produced the five fastest times of the season.
A stacked long jump field had Florida’s Anthaya Charlton winning with an impressive leap of 22-10.75 (6.98) which broke the meet (22-2.25 | 6.76) and facility record of 22-9 (6.93) set by Tara Davis-Woodhall in 2024 and 2021, respectively.
Razorbacks Nia Robinson and Funminiyi Olajide placed fourth and fifth with marks of 21-6 (6.55) and 21-3.25 (6.48). Robinson just missed her career best by a quarter of an inch while Olajide improved upon her No. 3 standing on the UA all-time list.
Georgia’s Aaliyah Butler cruised to a winning time of 22.83 in the 200m over a 22.91 by Oregon’s Jadyn Mays from another section. Arkansas alums Amber Anning (22.94) and Rosey Effiong (23.11) were third and fourth overall.
Anya Jackson led the Razorback contingent with a 23.55, followed by Aaliyah Pyatt (23.73), Ashanti Denton (23.84), Na’Taja Ballard (23.89), Saira Prince (23.99), and Kayla Davis.
In her pentathlon debut, Heidi Hudson produced a score of 3,927 to place fourth. After opening with a career best 8.75 in the 60m hurdles, Hudson led the field in the high jump with an indoor PR of 5-9.75 (1.77) and held the overall lead with 1,902 points.
A mark of 29-3.75 (8.93) followed in the shot put. Then she long jumped 18-2.25 (5.54) and closed out the day with a 2:17.86 in the 800m.
