HOPE, Ark. — Hempstead County Economic Development is saddened by the announcement that Hope Baking will cease operations, resulting in the loss of approximately 250 jobs in our community. According to information shared with employees, employment is expected to end on July 25th, following a notification distributed through the company’s employee portal on the evening of July 18.
“Our thoughts are with the employees, their families, and everyone affected by this difficult news,” said Anna Powell President of Hempstead County Economic Development. “The closure of a major employer has a significant impact on our economy and community, and we recognize the uncertainty many families are facing.”
Hempstead County Economic Development is actively coordinating with state and local partners, including workforce development agencies, elected officials, and regional employers, to help connect displaced workers with available resources, employment opportunities, job training, and career transition services.
Additional information regarding workforce assistance, a hiring event, and available support services will be available on July 28th at Hempstead Hall from 8:00 - 5:00 PM. Employees are encouraged to stay connected with local workforce agencies for updates on job placement assistance and unemployment resources.
