Hope City Board approves of Parade and Olympics for upcoming Watermelon Festival
The Hope City Board had a special call for a meeting Wednesday afternoon where Beckie Moore of Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce requested for the Board to approve of city facilities and areas to be used for the Hope Watermelon Festival.

One of these areas would be used for the Watermelon Festival Parade, a new event that will take place Monday July 26 at 6:30. The event will have participants gather at Brazzel-Oakcrest and take the exact same route as the Christmas Parade.

The other area would be used for the Watermelon Olympics. That will take place Thursday, July 29 at 5:30 at The HUB, parking lot, Art Park and the possibility of being at Powers.

The Board approved of both of these locations to be used for the Festival.
