The Hope City Board approved Tuesday evening at their bimonthly City Board meeting to replace the current fencing around Fair Park and replace it with new material for purchase.
The Board approved to purchase the fencing from United Fence & Construction Co., Inc. based in North Little Rock for a bid amount of $104,830 which includes labor and materials. This purchase will come with extra material and extra paint in case of possible damage.
The Board also approved of a request from Hope Downtown Network to close the north side of the 2nd and Elm intersection for their Hope Hometown Open Air Market on Saturday, September 4 from 9 am to 4 pm.
While the north side of this intersection will be closed, 2nd street will be completely open. The closure will also extend to the ally next to 113 S. Elm to allow entrance and exiting for the parking lot at Elm and Division.
